DETAILING STANDARDS: 


Nominal Cover to Reinforcement: 

Internal   :15mm or bar size + ΔCdev (5 or 10mm) 
External  : 35mm + ΔCdev (5 or 10mm) 

Spacing and Size of bars: 

Minimum spacing                         : 75mm (at laps) 
Maximum main bar spacing         : ≤ 3D or 400mm 
Maximum secondary bar spacing : ≤ 3.5D or 450mm 
Minimum bar size                         : 10mm

Bar arrangements: 

Top bar if support within stock length,
Top bars if support  beyond stock length 
Bottom  bar if support within stock length,

Bottom bars if support  beyond stock length

Opening Trimming details 

1. Openings to be ignored, If size ≤ 150mm. 
2. If opening size ≤ 300mm, main bars to be displaced at site either side of opening; no trimmers required and diagonal bars required for anti-crack. 
3. If opening size ≤ 500mm and Ø ≥ 20mm, main bars to be displaced at site either side of opening; no trimmers required; diagonal bars required for anti-crack and sacrificial bars may be required to satisfy maximum spacing of bars. 
4. If opening size ≤ 500mm and Ø ≤ 16mm, main bars to be cut at site; end u-bars, trimmers and diagonal bars to be detailed as shown below. 
5. If opening size > 500mm, cut the main reinforcement; end u-bars, trimmers and diagonal bars to be detailed as shown below.
