 This is meant as a brief overview of the options that exist during shape driven rebar placement. A shape driven rebar gets its geometry from a rebar shape loaded into the Revit project. This kind of rebar has a bar plane that contains all the bar geometry, segment planes perpendicular to the bar plane, which contain each segment, as well as an out of plane extent, which represents the end of the rebar set. To place such a bar in any 2D view, we need to position and orient it within the element and relative to the view plane.  Standard Shape Codes General Notes  The values for minimum radius and end dimensions, r and A respectively, as specified in Table B.1, shall apply to all shape codes.  The dimensions in parentheses are the free dimensions. If a shape given in this table is required but a different dimension is to allow for the possible deviations, the shape shall be drawn out and given the shape code 99 and the free dimension shall be indicated in parentheses. The length of straight between two bends shall be at least 4d, (see Figure 6 BS 86666). BS 86666, Figures 4, 5 and 6 should be used in the interpretation of bending dimensions.
